In DNA, which carbon atoms of 2-deyoxy-D-ribose are bonded to the phosphate groups?

The phosphates join the 3' oxygen of one nucleotide to the 5' oxygen of the adjacent one. 3' and 5' refer to numbers for the carbon atoms in the ribose ring. The 5' is the CH2 carbon while the 3' is the carbon on the lower left of the ring when the O in the ring is pointed away from you.
