If my carpet shampooer was used on somebody's carpet whos dog had/has mange will my shampooer spread mange the?

i borrowed my hoover steam vacuum to a friend not knowing their dog had mange, so they needed to clean their carpets, now will my steam vac/shampooer be contaminated & put mange into my carpet the next time i use it? i heard if a person can get mange from a dog but in people it's what is refered to as scabies, but i forgot to call my vet to ask about my shampooer if it'd p it onto my carpet when i use it next time, if anybody reading this would know for sure??
